Our Editorial Vision
We seek out writing that rewards close attention — work distinguished by voice, craft, and an honest engagement with the world.
Terrapage Press publishes four to six titles per year across a focused range of categories. We are a young press, and our list is growing deliberately. Here is what we are actively acquiring and where our editorial interests lie.
Narrative Nonfiction
True stories told with the craft and pacing of the best fiction. Memoir, essay collections, cultural exploration, and books that use personal experience to illuminate something universal. Our debut title lives here — at the intersection of humor, science, and honest storytelling.
Illustrated Nonfiction
Books where illustration and text work together to create something neither could achieve alone. We invest in original art and believe that visual storytelling is a form of writing, not decoration.
Literary Fiction
Novels and short story collections with distinctive voices and narratives that take risks with form or perspective. We are building toward adding literary fiction to our list and welcome queries from writers in this space.
Nature & Place Writing
Books that explore our relationship with the natural world and the places we inhabit. From ecological inquiry to personal reflections on landscape and belonging — rooted in the Pacific Northwest tradition and beyond.
What We Don’t Publish
Clarity about what we don’t do is a form of respect — for your time and for ours. We do not publish genre romance, thriller or mystery fiction, children’s picture books, academic texts, religious or devotional works, or how-to/instructional guides. If your manuscript falls into one of these categories, we are not the right home for it, and we encourage you to seek a publisher whose editorial focus aligns with your work.
If your work fits our vision, we’d like to see it.
